The Perl programming language is used very often for document processing and Web server enhancements. Years ahead of Java, its main characteristics were object-orientation, modularization and platform-independence. And ease of use.

Squirrel Consultancy has been using Perl for almost every purpose ever since its first release in 1988. We have also contributed to the development of the language itself.

Introduction to Perl

Introduction to Perl is a one-day introduction course to the characteristics of the Perl programming language.

Programming Perl

Programming Perl is a three-day training to the Perl programming language. The training teaches how to program using Perl version 5, from simple scripting to the modular concepts and object oriented features of the language.

Required knowledge for this course is essential programming, for example in C, C++ or Java.

Perl Masterclasses

The Perl Masterclasses are a series of independent classes for advanced users. Classes can take a full day, or half a day. All classes include practice.

Using Object Oriented Perl (full day)
XML handling with Perl (full day)
Building GUI with Perl and wxGlade (half a day)
CGI programming (half a day)
Using databases with DBI (half a day)

Archaic Perl

Complimentary to Programming Perl is a one-day course that teaches the older constructs from the Perl programming language. Although these constructs are now mostly obsolete, knowledge of them is necessary when dealing with older, already written Perl programs.
